Review -Inkbird  Pro INT-14S-BW

Temperature Probe

Having recently tested a single wireless probe from Inkbird, I was invited to review a 4-probe block.

First Impressions

This probe block had a lot to live up to as I already own a Meater Block. It's a slightly unfair comparison, as the Block is a few years old and has already been replaced by a newer model. The design is quite sleek, and I immediately noticed that the probe numbers are etched into the probe on two sides, so you can see it at any angle. Operation modes allow for local, bluetooth and wireless connections. Like other probes, there's a marked safety line, so this probe should not be used on smaller cuts of meat (see here for a shorter probe review). The charging block comes with a fold-out stand, and a button that can be used for selecting the connection mode. Pretty much everything else is controlled through the Inkbird app.

Operation

Stick the probe into food and do everything else from the app. For this test, I cooked pork belly indirectly in a kamado for 3 hours. The connection did not drop a single time over the cook, which was my biggest bugbear with the competitor. The charging unit beeps when the desired temperature is reached and there are also alarms on the app, so you're not going to miss when your cook reaches the perfect temperature. I found the plastic ends on the probes easier to clean after the cook than the metal ends I was used to.

Conclusion

The connectivity from this probe was perfect, and the test cook turned out very well. This has quickly become my favourite wireless probe, likely to feature in every unattended cook going forward.
